At Mech-Industries, corporate social responsibility is fundamental to who we are. As a proudly South African Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), we recognise that our responsibility extends beyond manufacturing high-quality screening media. We are equally committed to creating sustainable social value by investing in the people and communities that have contributed to the growth of South Africa’s mining industry.

Our social investment initiatives are centred on education, youth development, community upliftment and the support of labour-sending communities. Through strategic partnerships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders, we implement projects that create opportunities, improve livelihoods and contribute to long-term, sustainable development.

These initiatives are coordinated by Mech-Associates, the social responsibility arm of Mech-Industries. Under the leadership of Mr Eric Manentsa, Anne van Rooyen, Dr Mandisa Mokwena and Ms Nyameka Putuma, and with the dedicated Mech- Associates family, our social responsibility programmes are planned and implemented with compassion, integrity and a shared commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.

As part of our commitment to education, Mech-Industries proudly supports Nangamso Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape, a historic mining labour-sending region in South Africa. Working alongside strategic partners, we contribute to projects that enhance the school’s learning environment, strengthen its infrastructure and create better educational opportunities for learners. We believe that investing in education is one of the most effective ways to empower future generations and build resilient communities.

Beyond education, Mech-Industries is equally committed to caring for older people. Through Mech-Associates, we regularly provide dry grocery hampers to senior citizens at community care centres in Eden Park, Gauteng, and Mamelodi, Pretoria. These initiatives help alleviate food insecurity, promote dignity and wellbeing, and demonstrate our appreciation for those who have helped build our communities.
